Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Firmware Flash File Download [Stock Rom]

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 (codename clover) was Xiaomi’s popular 8-inch Android tablet, released in 2018 as a compact media consumption device. It was celebrated for its portable form factor, capable Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, and excellent battery life. If your tablet is experiencing instability, bootloops, or you wish to return it to its original factory state, this page provides the official fastboot ROM for the China variant and the debloated, Google-enabled Xiaomi.eu custom ROM.

Critical Warning: The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 was only officially released in China. All “global” ROMs you may find are custom ports. Always confirm your device codename is clover before flashing. Using firmware for a different device will result in a hard brick.

FAQs

Q1. Is there an official Global ROM for the Mi Pad 4? No. Xiaomi never released an official global ROM for the Mi Pad 4. The China ROM is the only official stock firmware. The Xiaomi.eu ROM is the best alternative for global users as it removes Chinese bloatware, adds Google Play Services, and supports multiple languages.
Q2. Can I install Android 9 or higher on the Mi Pad 4?
Yes, but not through official MIUI. The device’s final official update was MIUI 10 on Android 8.1. However, the custom development community has provided excellent ports of LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) and other ROMs, which can be found on forums like XDA-Developers.

Q3. Why should I choose the Xiaomi.eu ROM over the stock China ROM?
The Xiaomi.eu ROM is based on the China ROM but is debloated, deoptimized for better performance on international devices, and includes full Google Play support and multi-language functionality out of the box. It provides a much better user experience for non-Chinese users.

Q4. My device is stuck on a bootloop after an update. What can I do?
A bootloop can often be resolved by flashing the stock fastboot ROM using Mi Flash Tool. Ensure you use the “clean all” option to wipe the device completely and install a fresh copy of the OS.

Troubleshooting

  • Driver Issues: The Mi Pad 4 uses a standard Micro-USB port for data and charging. Ensure you have the correct Qualcomm USB drivers installed for the Snapdragon 660 chipset.
  • Mi Flash Tool Errors: If the tool fails to flash, try running it as Administrator. Also, ensure the path to your firmware folder does not contain any spaces or non-English characters.
  • Bootloader Unlock Wait Time: Xiaomi enforces a waiting period after requesting bootloader unlock. You may need to wait up to 168 hours (7 days) after adding your account to the device in MIUI before the unlock tool will work.
  • Soft Brick: If the tablet is unresponsive, you can almost always force it into Fastboot mode by holding Power + Volume Down for over 10 seconds, allowing you to re-flash the ROM.
