Important Safety Notice

  • Backup Your Data: This process will erase all your personal data. Ensure you have a backup before you proceed.
  • Use the Correct Files: Flashing the wrong firmware for your specific Vivo X1 model will likely brick your phone. Double-check everything.
  • Charge Your Phone: Ensure your device has at least 50% battery to prevent it from shutting down during the flashing process.

Prerequisites: All Necessary Files and Tools

  1. A Windows PC: SP Flash Tool is a Windows-based application.
  2. USB Cable: A high-quality USB data cable.
  3. SP Flash Tool: Download the latest version from a reputable source.
  4. MediaTek (MTK) VCOM Drivers: Essential for your PC to recognize the phone correctly.
  5. Firmware Package: The correct firmware for your device, downloaded from the table above.
  6. MTK Auth Bypass Tool (for newer devices): Many modern MTK phones have security that must be disabled. If your phone is from 2020 or newer, you will likely need this.

Detailed Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your PC and Files

The initial step is to prepare your files and drivers. Download everything you need into a single folder on your PC to avoid confusion.

  1. Install MTK VCOM Drivers: This is a critical first step. You may need to disable Windows Driver Signature Enforcement to install them correctly. If you are unsure how, a quick web search for “disable driver signature enforcement windows 10/11” will provide a guide.
  2. Extract Tools & Firmware: Unzip the SP Flash Tool, the MTK Auth Bypass tool (if needed), and the firmware package. Inside the firmware folder, locate the “scatter file” – it’s a text file (`.txt`) that usually contains the chipset name, for example: MT6762_Android_scatter.txt.

Step 2: Load Firmware in SP Flash Tool

  1. Run as Administrator: Navigate to the SP Flash Tool folder and right-click on flash_tool.exe, then select “Run as administrator”.
  2. Load Scatter File: In the tool, click the “Scatter-loading File” button. Browse to your extracted firmware folder and select the .txt scatter file you identified earlier.
  3. Check Partitions: The tool will load all the phone’s partitions. Ensure the dropdown menu is set to “Download Only”.CRITICAL WARNING: Verify that the “preloader” partition is CHECKED. If you flash without the preloader, you can brick your device. Also, NEVER use the “Format All + Download” option unless you are an expert, as it can erase your phone’s IMEI and other vital data.

Step 3: Flash the Firmware

This step combines the security bypass and the actual flashing. Read carefully.

  1. Run the Auth Bypass Tool (For Newer Phones Only): If your Vivo X1 requires it, open the MTK Auth Bypass tool now. Click its “Disable Auth” or “Bypass” button. The tool will now wait for a connection.
  2. Begin Download in SP Flash Tool: Go back to the SP Flash Tool window (which already has your firmware loaded). Click the big green “Download” button at the top. The tool is now armed and waiting for the phone.
  3. Connect Your Phone:
    • First, make sure your Vivo X1 is completely powered off.
    • For this model, you do not need to press any buttons. Simply connect the powered-off phone to the PC with the USB cable.
  4. Monitor the Process: The bypass tool will detect the phone first, and then SP Flash Tool will immediately begin flashing (you’ll see a red, then yellow progress bar). The process will take several minutes. DO NOT disconnect or touch the phone.
  5. Wait for Success: The process is complete when a large pop-up window appears with a green checkmark and the words “Download OK”.

Step 4: Reboot Your Phone

With the “Download OK” message on your screen, the hard part is over. Unplug your Vivo X1 and boot it up by holding the Power key.

Be patient, as the first boot can take 5-10 minutes while the system sets itself up. You will then be greeted by the initial Android setup screen.
