The LYF Water F1S (LS-5201) was a powerful mid-range smartphone from late 2016, featuring a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, a healthy 3GB of RAM, and a crisp 5.2-inch Full HD display running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. While its hardware was well-equipped for a smooth experience, the device was often held back by unoptimized software. Users reported issues such as unexpected system lag and stuttering, random reboots, and camera instability—problems that point directly to firmware bugs rather than hardware limitations. Another common issue for aging devices like this is getting stuck in a bootloop, which can be caused by software corruption. For owners facing these frustrating performance and stability problems, reinstalling the latest official firmware is the most direct way to resolve software-based bugs and restore the phone to its peak operating condition.
This guide provides two official stock ROM packages for the LYF Water F1S. It is a Qualcomm device and must be flashed using the QFIL tool.

Why Flash the Stock Firmware on Your LYF Water F1S?
A full firmware reinstallation is the best strategy to address the specific software flaws of this phone:
- Eliminate Unexpected Lag and Stutter: A phone with a Snapdragon 652 processor and 3GB of RAM should not feel slow. To fix performance bottlenecks, a clean installation of the 170124 firmware clears out software conflicts and restores the system’s original fluidity.
- Fix Startup Bootloops and Random Reboots: If your phone is stuck restarting or reboots on its own, flashing the S10A_L13EN_200_170124 build is the essential first step to rule out software corruption before suspecting a hardware issue like a failing battery.
- Resolve Camera Instability: For a camera app that is slow, freezes, or crashes, reinstalling the complete Android 6.0.1 OS package restores the original, optimized camera drivers and application, which can fix these bugs.
- Stabilize Wireless Connections: If you are experiencing frequent Wi-Fi or Bluetooth drops, flashing the firmware will reinstall the radio drivers included in the 170124 package, which can solve persistent connectivity problems.
- Recover from a Failed Update or Root Attempt: If a failed software modification has left the phone bricked or unresponsive, flashing the official stock ROM via QFIL is the primary method to restore it to working condition.
⚠️ Important Prerequisites
Before you begin, back up any accessible data. This procedure will permanently delete everything on the phone.
- The latest version of the QPST package, which includes the QFIL tool.
- The correct Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 drivers installed on your PC.

- Download and extract your chosen firmware
.zipfile to a new folder. - Install the Qualcomm USB drivers and the latest QPST/QFIL tool on your computer.
- Launch QFIL.
- Completely power off your LYF Water F1S.

- In QFIL, select “Flat Build” and then click “Browse” to navigate to the extracted firmware folder and select the
prog_emmc_firehose_...mbnfile. - Click “Load XML” and select the
rawprogram_unsparse.xmlfile, followed by thepatch0.xmlfile. - Click the “Download” button in QFIL to begin the flashing process.
