Both models use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, but the R7c has different mobile radio hardware (CDMA/EVDO). Flashing R7f firmware on an R7c often causes mobile network and SIM signal loss. It is safer to keep the official R7c firmware.
SP Flash Tool only works with the MediaTek R7t model. If your phone is an R7f or R7c, it has a Qualcomm processor and will never connect to SP Flash Tool. For R7f and R7c, use QFIL in Qualcomm EDL mode instead.
