Compatibility & Bootloader Notes

Intel models (Z170C and Z170CG) flash in Fastboot/Droidboot mode using ASUS Flash Tool. MediaTek model Z170MG flashes in Preloader mode using SP Flash Tool.

Preparation checklist for ASUS ZenPad C 7.0
  • Check your tablet model number on the back cover or in Settings -> About Tablet.
  • For Z170C or Z170CG: install ASUS Android USB drivers and ASUS Flash Tool on your PC.
  • For Z170MG: install MediaTek VCOM drivers and SP Flash Tool.
  • Charge the battery to at least 40% before you begin.
  • Back up any important personal files because flashing will wipe the tablet.
